Bought new Alpine Window Seals for my 1995 Discovery and now tyring to figure out the best procedure for installation. Do you put seal on Window first or Body ? What about that little cord (seal strip) that goes top of outside main seal ? Tried several things and only got frustrated. Anyone seen procedure instructions or have experience ? Thanks !

Jack, may be you can try this: 1)insert seal around the glas, without the seal strip. 2)place a cord around the outer slot of the seal 3)place window in its position, and pull the cord inside the vehicle in order to put inner seal lapel inside from the car. 4)insert the seal strip trough a small strong wire ring, then pull this ring all around the seal, inserting the complete strip. I recommend to proof things until point3, if you feel things are o.k restart procedure adding a little silicone sealant in the slots. Sorry if you dont understand my spanish thinking redaction. Greetings from Argentina

After continuing to struggle (doing the rear side windows as well with new seals) I am contemplating taking it to a shop. BUT...the LR dealer wants $300 and I am not sure I trust a glass shop with the special seals for the Alpine Windows. |

Start calling around and sooner or later, you will find a shop. |
