Yesterday I noticed a faint clanking noise when Applying brakes while moving, today there is a horrible grinding clatter noise. =( It sounds, I guess, like a bad CV. My front drivers side wheel at low speed tries to lock up and skid. If i'm going fast enough it just grindes away. It only dose this while pressing the brakes though. So I had thought it was a brake problem, but I looked at the brakes today and nouthing look out of the normal. so is it a bad CV? |

might be a wheel bearing when you hit the brakes with bad bearings the hub moves off center and can cause a huge grinding...then you let off and it sorta recenters the good news is you have to go past the wheel bearings to get to the CV so if they are bad you get to stop there. MM |
