I need to get one of these soon.

Will it be possible to mount it on the spare tire carrier? Currently I have another Tornado style wheel on the back.

I use my bike rack which is mounted on my spare. The jack fits right into the bike frame clamp. I also put my sand ladders there as well. Just a thought, in case you were so equipped.

I'd say keep it inside if at all possible. Hi-lift jacks are dangerous enough as it is, without getting weathered or covered with gunk. Find a place inside and strap it down.

Maybe get one of those exhaust jacks instead. Or just run the winch rope over a tree branch and pull the trigger. Prolly safer than a hi-lift.

I have mine bolted to the brush bar, but before that I had it temporarily tucked in on the floor behind the 2 front seats. That area has a really low center of gravity and you can bungee it to the seats.

Alan at www.northbyrover.com did the same and made some mounts to bolt it in that location:
