Took my 98 DI into the dealership in Centerville, UT because it was overheating. They say it has a clogged radiatior. I have 61000 miles and the extended waranty will only cover leaking radiators. What would cause the clog?

Thanks,

Kris

Just a guess but using poor grade anti-freeze in the radiator. It can react with the aluminum block and cause problems. I use the orange stuff, it's rated for use in AL engines.

If you can turn a wrench, removal of the radiator is a fast job. Then take it to a shop for rodding.
While you have it out, take a garden hose and clean-out the air conditioner condenser. If that clogs, usually is the first to get blocked, radiator performance erodes obviously.
