I have a 99 Disco with the mileage blinking. I tried searching the archives and could not find anything. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

JD,

My odometer light is out. I've been tracking down info on the odometer area in an attempt to fix it. Still looking, info on it is hard to come by. If I find something in my continued search that will help you out, I'll pass it along.

Good Luck, Jamie

Mine flickers too, on the 97 D90. Been doing it for a year, still works, so be it. I made a video of it once when it was really bad. It's gotten better lately...check it out:

DI or DII?

I have seen each only once and they both were fixed with new clusters. DII the ecu updates the miles to correct number, DI it does not but land rover has a process to record the old and that way there is a record when you go to sell.

97 D90 gauge failures were common. Lots got new speedos.

Wicks...Nice video and expression...I feel the same way sometimes. Mine is not like that though. It is more of a controlled blink?!?!?

Ron,
There is not an issue with the mileage. The miles continue to "roll" and be recorded correctly. It just seemed odd that it was blinking while doing this. I wasn't sure if it was a code or some type of indicator.

Ok, so when I clicked on the link, it just showed me some CG screen called Dizzzy. Is that how your odometer blinking made you feel? :-)

Just wanted to say thanks. You hit the nail right on the head. Dealership ordered a new instrument cluster for me, it will be installed next week.

Thanks!! Jamie
