I have an '01 D2 with only 25k miles, stock. In weather colder than about 55F, when I drive over a bump, particularly the large speed bump in my parking lot, the rear suspension (I guess), creaks and groans like an 80 year old man. This has been going on for a couple of months. I see nothing loose or broken underneath, the dealer says he doesn't see anything wrong. What is causing this annoying sound?

Geez man, it's a Land Rover! If it's not making sounds worry! LOL! :-)

And hey, I wish it was 55F, that would be hot. It's been 10 or below, here in upstate NY. Want to talk about some nasty sounds. The water pump literally screams when you start the engine. Not nice. Also when it's below 0, I've had a problem with the relays on my Hella 4000 freezing open. The lights won't turn off, until I pull the fuse! Crazy stuff man.

But really, it's most likey the bushes in the panard rods, no big deal. Maybe bushes in the sway bar. Or do you have SLS?

Yeah this is a really easy fix. The anti roll bar bushins dry out over time. There are a couple ways to attack this. When mine started creaking I unbolted the frame mount and slid them out of the way, put some synthetic grease on the bar and moved the bushing all around the grease. Has fixed it for a year now. It is really easy to do, all you need is a 15mm(?) wrench or socket and some good grease. I chose synthetic simply becuase that is all I have. Spraying the bushings with silicon wont work and will soften them--not good.

I don't have SLS. Down here in Alabama, we break out the coats at 55 and complain about going outside when it drops below freezing. Matt, I'll slap some grease on them this weekend. Thanks for the input.
