Sometimes when I put my truck in gear (I have an auto 96 disco) I rev the engine to like 2000 RPM thinking it must be the snow and ruts in my driveway holding me back but then clunk! She shifts very hard into gear and then I move forward. Doesn't happen very often but it happened again tonight and that was the second time in the last three days. I don't know how many more times that can happen till something expensive breaks. Tonight it did it and the vehicle was warm. Previously I thought it was because the trans was cold in the morning. It has happened in both reverse and forward now if that helps with the diagnosis. Trans runs fine other than this. Thanks |

It is exactly like doing a nutrual drop. That describes the behaviour perfectly. |

Check your fluid level and color. Might be worth a change. |
