We are about to release a new DiscoWeb video. It is called "Back East", and has footage from the Wurtsboro trip, Ontario Canada, Virginia, Roverfest, the ROVERS trial in Robesonia last year, and of course the Pine Barrens. It is narrated by yours truly. The video has already been completed, and we will start taking orders as soon as we have made up enough copies. That will probably be in 2-3 weeks or so. In the meantime, you can see a preview here: Back East Preview Axel |

Any possibilities of a little lower price for ordering Moab and Back East at once, I'd buy both at the same time if there is a little break. |

As far as a price break the idea behind the videos and the stickers is to support discoweb. Even though I am cheap bastard I buy them to support the site. so just buy them! Ron |

Hey Axle, Ho, Kyle, I have a Discoweb video idea. I think it would be pretty cool if folks from the site would send in snippets of video. Then, they could all be edited onto a single copy and sold. It would be cool to see the different folks wheeling in their regular spots, put faces/trucks with names, etc. Just a thought. Tom |

Yeah, I don't even own a VCR anymore. I think I am going to buy a DVD / VCR combo unit. The only tape I own is the MOAB video, everything else is DVD. But obviously my tape collection is about to double with the next video. |

I am keeping an eye on DVD technology, and I think it is just a matter of time before it will take over and replace vhs alltogether. The standards will settle down, and cost of blank DVD's will come down to the same levels as what we pay for blank CD's now. So we will have to move to DVD eventually. Then on the other hand, maybe we should wait for the new high definition 50GB/disk DVD format that is right around the corner..... |

work? hell no. haha. actually i was very busy moving and then passing a few stones. so with both of them happening i was not frequenting dweb or my other midget porn sites. ugh. i still miss my morphine!! damn that stuff is good. but yeah i am glad that is over with. last time i had to deal with them was 2 years ago. well i do work from time to time. haha. but actually in about 2 months i think i will really have to work. my company is merging with a larger one (i am 90% sure so far) and that means i have to set a good example!!! so back to 10 hour days. oh well. |

KJ: "red, red, yeeaahh..." UB40 goes just about everywhere I do (It's in the truck, LOL) GP: That sounds awful. And last time I was administered morphine, it made me kind of cranky (of course the condition that called for it was probably more responsible for that feeling). I heard that for kidney stones, you must stop all beer/lager(everything, you name it) consumption at once and forever more ... (don't panic, I'm only kiddnin' ya, I have no idea about those) Kim So, who all do we get to see in the new video again? |

Garrett, Kim is actually partly correct. Most beers are OK after passing stones; it's only Guinness, Yuengling and any microbrew that are forbidden. Guess you're stuck with Miller and Coors Light from here on out! Oh, BTW, I've also read medical research that says the atmosphere at any Hooters is also known as a precursor to kidney stones, so you may be out of luck there too. In fact, that may be what's caused you problems in the past. Something to do with the combination of the grease in the victuals and the visual impact of...well, all the Hooters, has some weird effect on the bloodstream. It would seem you're in need of a lifestyle change!! Maybe Evan can help you go all the way to the darkside. Kent |

evan=darkside? ok....that is a scary thought. i mean him always giving out hugs in those boxers is enough to put anyone over the edge as it is. yeah there is a high lime content in the water here in central PA. i think i will put a filter of some kind on my faucet. cuz having little rocks flying out your wee wee ain't cool. i was happy with the morphine. i mean everytime they would shoot me up i could not even keep my head up. it would just drop to the one side or just fall backwards. it also gave you a cool sensation all over. but overall i give it a 9 out of 10 on the drug scale. some good weed can have the same effect!!! haha. now about having to stop some or all beer consumption is just wrong. lol. i mean when i passed my first stones a few years back i was talking to the doc about that. he was just saying to not drink too heavily while medicated that is all. i do have a prescription for Vicadin (sp?). but have not had it filled yet. but from what i know people on the east coast have a much higher chance of getting stones then those on the west. my doctor was from NC and said that your chances are much higher there than in PA. said it has allot to do with environment, diet and lifestyle. so i am not sure where that puts me. i don't even drink coffee. OJ and danish every morning. maybe i should ween off the OJ and onto something new. bailey's??? |

GP, "... but from what i know people on the east coast have a much higher chance of getting stones then those on the west." Yes, I did a quick medical research on the web, and I read that it might also have someting to do with wheeling styles, and "The Tick" factor ... LOL You best get your behind out West to thwart the possible irritation to this condition ... LOL We're just trying to help ... Kim I'm off to pray now that there will be "ticks" around when I need them |

I just saw the Back East video last night. It was great. Ax's dry humor in the narration made it that much more enjoyable. Images of Kyle driving through the sticks and of the whistling ARB compressor are indelibly etched in my little brain. I got mine in the mail earlier tonight and popped it in. It was really a great vid, no offense but it was done a lot better than I expected. I just got my Disco in April and haven't had time to take it anywhere more offroad than the dirt road that leads to one of our baseball fields on the university campus I work at. It was really great to see what the trucks are really capable of. You guys should think about putting out a beginners/getting to know your Disco tape. You could pretty much use the same footage with a different commentary track explaining when and why the cdl should be locked, when to brake, etc. I've noticed a lot of other newbies, like me here who would probably buy it. |

Glad you liked it. Production wise, I think this one came out better than the Moab video. The soundtrack is better, and it is narrated. And it has mud, water and liberal use of the stupid pedal, especially for Ron Brown... Petros, Hole in the Rock is in the editing stage right now, and it won't be out until some time late fall. Hey Kim! Getting back to important business, I read this a couple days ago and thought of you. From the "Top 5" list Ruminations: I had a dream last night that I drank the largest Margarita in Texas. The BE video was great. The narration was great, Axel, and the footage all excellent. Fun to put faces (and places) with names as well. Even got to hear the beginnings of a classic Discoweb debate starting up around the campfire ... heh heh, One of my favorite quotes there, Ax ... Well I won't give too much away, before everyone else gets a chance to watch. Great job. I couldn't say which video I enjoy more, Moab 2001, or this, becuase (IMO) they're equally good, ... they each have different types terrain and driving "styles/techniqes" (hehe) featured in them. After watching BE video for first time, I do know this: If I ran that stick course, (especially after what I learned in that eye exam yesterday, LOL) I would have probably chalked up 500 points, and been asked to leave (and never come back) for wrecking the course and narrowly missing people at the poles, Kim Thumbs up! |

Mine arrived yesterday, watched it last night.
Not that I'm gonna knock the Moab video, but, I really liked this one much more. Guess that it's so much more familiar, having to dodge trees when you're sliding on a muddy slope.... heh heh... I guess if I'd been wheelin' in Moab before, then maybe my perspective might be different.... The narration did help it quite a bit, IMHO... there wasn't a lot of it, so it wasn't distracting in the least, but it made it feel more like it was thought out instead of just plain ordinary home movies. By basically acting as an intro to each chapter, then filling in details or adding snippets here or there, it really gave it a better sense of self, I think. IMHO, FWIW, YMMV......

On second thought, probably not yet because you have that major Alaska trip planned for your honeymoon, right? Something like three weeks? Be sure to take a lot of pics and post them on your web site. Karen |

Axel, I recieved my tape today. However, even my neighbors with the jeep don't own a VCR. K Maybe I can play it at Hooters on Saturday night. |

Take it to your local Walgreens and have them transfer your video to DVD format. |

Karen, Yes, I got married on 5/26 and I just got back from two weeks in Alaska on Friday night. Working on the pictures for my site. Will take a while though to get them all scaned and posted. I had a great time. |

Eric, CONGRATS!!!! Glad to hear you kids had a good trip, too. Can't wait to see your pics. Did you do any wheelin' up there? Dayum, two weeks sounds great, but when you're actually doing it, it probably still feels too short! Let us know when you get your pictures uploaded. Karen |

Well, no real wheeling.. We ended up with a little Kia SUV cute ute thing.. Needless to say I ragged the hell out of it playing Dukes of Hazzard on all the gravel roads up there.. I almost wrapped the thing around a tree more then once. Funny thing is that once I told the lady at the rental counter that I wanted the extra insurance on it she says "Oh well, if you hit some thing or wreck it then don't worry. Your covered. Just give us a call and we'll get you a new car." You should have seen the smile on my face when she said that.. Yes, it was a busy trip and we did alot while we were there. |
