My ABS, TC, and CDL light are on in my '01 SE7. I don't have a solenoid installed for the CDL either?!?!?!? The CDL light flashed on and off erratically for a while, then they all turned on and stayed on, I shut down and they turned off for a while, now they are all back on again even after numerous shutdowns. What I am wondering, Alyssa maybe you can chime in, is if LR would still honor a SLABS repair at 55,000 miles. I would be pissed if I had to pay $500-2000 for a repair that LR knows is a defect. I have had the recall work done, but from what I understand, there are still major problems. Any insight before I call my dealer would be great. Thanks (By the way, do you all even think this is a SLABS issue?)

Curt, I've never seen that combination of lights before. It's always ABS, TC, and Hill Descent Control. Are you sure you're not confusing the HDC light with the CDL light? The CDL light is orange and looks like a ladder. I cannot understand why you would have ABS & TC but not HDC, as they are all linked. The only reason I can think of is if a lightbulb is burned out.
Most often when those 3 lights come on, you have a bad or mis-seated sensor, and it is not a SLABS issue. The way they go on and off really points to that, too.

Alyssa, it is the CDL light, not the HDC...100% positive. Also, I know my HDC light works because I just used it a couple days ago. Again, the CDL light will turn on and off at random...99% of the time it is on now. The ABS and TC lights are on about 70% of the time and they will go off on startup 30% of the time.

More info...first of all, Lyman I don't have a switch installed for my CDL...that is why this is so unusual. I actually broke out that little green book called the owners manual and it stated something to the effect of that a dealer may have to lock you diff when you are in for service and if the light comes on while driving that means that the dealer may have forgotten to unlock your diff. It continues to say to go the dealer immediatly because when the light is on your ABS and TC are disabled. This is all good and well except for the fact that THERE IS NO WAY I, OR ANYONE ELSE, COULD HAVE OR SHOULD HAVE LOCKED THE DIFFS. I don't get it! Has anyone heard of this problem? I guess I will go to the dealer tomarrow and give them another $500 to unlock my unlockable CDL if I can't get any help here. PLEASE HELP!

Lyman is talking about the switch in the t-case, not a way of locking the center diff. if your abs/tc are intermittent, then it goes back to a problem with the abs/slabs, either a sensor or a problem in the t-case/transmission. get to the dealer or a shop that can read the codes (testbook or rovercom)and find what's not working...

Curt, you do have the swich on your year disco...otherwise oil would be spewing on the ground. All you don't have is the linkage to move the spud to engage diff-lock. Find the spud on top of the front output housing, switch is screwed down into case near it. Be careful, exhaust is hot and area is tight where you have to force your hand. This is mostly done by feel, but you CAN see the spud if you get your head in the right spot....barely. ABS/Trac control will be faulted if CDL switch is noisy....Just like if you add a cdl and unlock diff-lock while the engine running and try to lock it again....you'll get the christmas tree effect...unless you have unlinked the cdl from the circuit like the 2004 models are. I haven't unlinked mine, as this gives me he option of defeating traction control...something VERY useful in sand, side hill snow, or any time you need to spin to clear your tire tread. I feel this makes the 1999-mid 2002 (after this, no spud in t-case)better than even the 2004.

Hi, I haven't been to this bbs for a while since, luckly, my D2 had been fine until yesterday.

I had similar problem where I am having TC, HDC, and ABS lights all on and it is in the hand of Roverland now.

May I ask what SLABS is and does it affect 2001 D2? I have 56K mi on the clock and does it cover?

Thanks
---Charlie
