twice i have been stuck at elevations above 7,000 ft. with temperatures around 30 degrees F. the starter cranks, a cylinder fires here or there, but it won't turn over. there is also a faint smell of fuel after cranking. had the truck towed down to 4,000 ft. where the temp was in the 40's and it started right up no problem. anyone else experience this? it went through diagnostics at the dealer and everything was normal (near sea level at 60 degrees here in san diego) don't know where to go from here, but not planning to return to the sierras for a while... |

I have. I pulled the fuel pump fuse under the hood and then cranked it to try to clean it out. Put the fuse back in and wahla it started.

thanks for the idea, will. doesn't tell me why it's sending too much fuel at altitude (sensors don't work so good?) but that might help me out of a jam. marc |
