Hey guys.. I've been bumpin' up and down Lefthand Canyon here in Boulder, and I've noticed my lo-hi shifter is really tricky to get into gear. It'll go into diff-lock fine, but I have trouble getting it to go smoothly into the low or high range... it'll beep annoyingly and feels like it can't find the gear. I'd say I can get the low/hi ranges to lock in 50% of the time, otherwise I just use the regular diff-lock. It's kind of a pain in the ass, since it precludes my attempting more challenging terrain. I've read the owners manual, so it isn't anything obvious.. Could it just be that the previous owner didn't use it often, and it needs to work itself in?

Felix - try shifting the T-case when rolling at about 5MPH. It was not meant to be shifted at a dead stop. Phillip - there is no logical reason for your solution. |
