When swapping ECU's do to an engine swap, is there any resetting needed or just plug in and drive off?

The 14cux ecu used through 1995 can be swapped and used. A 1996-1999 GEMS ECU will have to be programmed by the LR specialist computer before the truck will start. A Bosch ECU is coded to the vehicle with the specialist tools and is not readily swappable at all.

In his other post it said "I've got the 14CUX with the 4.6 chip."

By the label color I would guess that is a 94-95. 14cux could be the 4.2 but 4.6, Was it rechipped??

It was reprogrammed. 3.9 14CUX with the new mapping.
