The central locking doesn't open the boot (trunk) of my disco if you press the button on the keyfob all the locks pop up but the one on the boot goes back down and I have to lean over the rear seats and pull it up manually not a major problem for me but my wife who is heavily pregnant isn't best pleased bout it. Any easy fixes.. |

Its the actuator..Common issue. They either go completely bad or get sticky.

The problem is a broken spring inside your catch, which keeps the plunger up or down. You can only buy the catch, not the spring. An alternative that sometimes works is to replace the tailgate central locking motor with one from Maplins electrical store,or from an auto alarm fitter.These differ from original,ie. having resistance in the slide movment.These are a lot less expensive than the original motors and fit directly. |
