We're finally going to an off-roading intro this Sunday at the LRNA Headquarters track. Any other DiscoWebbers going, or are we the only rookies still left here? I'm still sorry I missed the real nuts and bolts intro with a few D-Webbers last fall. That looked like a great day. Ask me again sometime, guys!

Karen :)

Pardon my ingorance...is this being held in MD? Can anyone just show up or do you have to pre-register?.

Miek,

I got a notice from the dealership where I bought my truck, LR Alexandria. You do have to register, and I don't know if you have to be a customer of theirs or not. Give Patrick a call at 703-370-6565. I know there's only one slot left at the moment, and yes, it's the MD location. Good luck!

Hey KJ,

That should be fun! I think you will be even more impressed with what your truck can do :) ... Just beware of the "Rover Fever" ... Remember, one mod leads to another, and it never stops. ... Never, LOL. Have a great time!

:)

Not at all Paul , you just take a truck around the track at LRNA. Its not vast by any stretch of the imagination...

It may be even better to use their truck - Seriously, that way, you don't have any fear of wrecking your own - you'd be more relaxed. (did I mention I LOVE driving other people's trucks? hehehe) :)

There is nothing to wreck into. Its just a larger scale track then the one at the centers.

So I gather from your descriptions Kyle that this place would be a perfect location for a Ford "No Boundries" sign.

Dripping with Sarcasm,

We went to the track this morning and it was really fun. It looks harder than it is to actually drive it. David and I both enjoyed the experience and are glad we went. Neither of us had any trouble with the course and no mistakes made. I think it's a good thing for rookies like us, be it ever so short and simple.

KJ,

Glad you went and had fun! (I was hoping you would, and that you would tear up those tracks :))

Actually Ron, you might be able to wreck something on that track. I heard about more than one light assembly needing replacement, and some of those drivers were hell on bumpers! Our Fearless Leader was the service manager I think, and he kept getting radio messages about another this or that he was going to have to repair, LOL!

When we came home David got the "driving" bug again, so we took the Disco out into one of our horse pastures and drove all over the biggest hill we could find (which is pretty hilarious if you knew the tiny hill!). The horses were unimpressed even though we were telling them it was XTREEME!!!! LOL!

KJ:
Where are you located? Do you guys take "strays"? Reason I ask, is there are three beautiful animals (one foal) recently "set free" by their owner because he apparently has no where to keep them (Is this against the law?). They're basically running around in the hills up here free. They appear to be getting plenty of food, but I'm not sure about their hooves.

Michael,

No, we don't take strays, but call your local animal control or SPCA. Those horses should not be running loose, it's very dangerous for them and everyone else. Horses run into motorized vehicles all the time, often killing humans and themselves in the process. I would think it WAS against the law to turn livestock loose. These horses are domestic animals, and living in the "wild" is no picnic, with few protections. The animal authorities should be able to collect them and find them new homes. I don't think they would put them down as they might a stray small animal. Good luck, but please call someone about this, and get that asshole who turned them loose turned in, too.
