Whenever I start my disco, I hear a liquid being splashed around beneath the car, right by the oil pan. Also my oil light is on. It sounds like oil is trying to get pulled up through the pickup screen but unsucessfully just falling back down into the pan. Weird hypothesis but any truth in this since the engine has a lot of sludge?

Sounds to me like to you have an air bubble in your heater core. When you start the vehicle, the coolant starts flowing and suddenly fills up the heater core and sounds like it is bubbling. Your heater core is behind the center of the dash near the floor panel.

However, get it checked out etc. etc. etc.
