After 2 months of this Disco, I finally have the beloved Check Engine light come on in the Amber variety. It happened after wheeling today and for some reason when unlocking the CDL, I didnt get the shifter all the way over and when I put it in Drive I got this awful clunk and a alarm noise that was letting me know the transfer case was in Neutral. I put back in neutral and tried it again with no problem. Car is running fine with no problems at all. It appears that the OBD readers for laptops from OBD2.com are the best and well worth the money for Disco owners. Which one do I need and what accessories do I need. Is it the Euro or Ford or what. What cord do I need. Ive got a 98 D1. Thanks |

Get the Tricom. It's designed for adverse conditions, and will work on any OBD2 vehicle. It comes with everything you need. You will still need to download the software, though. - Axel

Where do you get the Tricom? Will it clear the ABS light as well as the check engine light? Thanks, Ryan |

The tricom is apparently an optional cable and software that lets you read any vehicle. I might try that one. Thanks axel |

Can anyone tell me where the OBD plug should be on my 1996 Disco? I just want to check to be sure this Gulf Spec model has that capability. SandMan |

Thanks Axel. What do you think of this OBD reader and it's associated functions? Sure it's a small screen (PDA) but seems really slick and very functional. The price is a bit overboard but you can get these on eBay for half that. For everything it does, it'd be worth the $120. SandMan http://www.auterraweb.com/dyforpaun.html |
