The cruise control on my 95 quit working last summer - not a big deal, but it's the only thing that doesn't work right on my truck. Yesterday I was giving the engine a good visual after changing my oil and spied a vacuum line that was cracked open. It connected to some black canister near the accelerator and kickdown cable. I cut the bad end off and reconnected it and now my cruis works again!! |

I guess I'll be looking under my hood this weekend. I hope I'm as lucky as you! |

Mine was doing the same thing last summer as a a bit of preventive maintenance I replace both hoses with new Marine grade line just to make sure it never happened again. |

I fixed mine the same way as Mike did. I think there is even a vaccum hose map somewhere? Is it under the hood or in the manual now I forget. My happiness was short lived because the hose was rotten and it only split again after a few months. Now I have less hose to play with (talking about the disco here). I like Crash05's method of repair but when I noticed the hose going behind the firewall I didn't bother. Crash05 - how hard was it to get behind the firewall? |

ahhh...the dreaded vaccum hose leak! I replaced all my vaccum hoses just as a preventative maintenance. |

I fixed mine when I first got the truck, then the hose cracked somewhere else in the line. Replaced it with windshield washer line hose and everything is good.... |

Ya, I did that in a few places, worked for a while. But once you get that checked off the list, the Cruise control computer will break - has something to do with when the vac tubes are working the computer stops working because it thinks something is wrong.
