I have '99 DII w/ 57K, OME 3" lift, 265s, ARB. My fuel consumption has drastically increased as of late. I was getting around 320-350 miles per tank of gas (with above noted mods), but I am now getting around 220-250 driving along the same route/schedule. I have changed the plugs, wires, and air filter. It also seems somewhat sluggish (relatively speaking) but I might be "looking" for symptoms. I recently had the MAF sensor replaced under warranty which roughly coincides with the drop in MPG (might be purely coincidental). Any ideas? Since it is not throwing any codes, the service manager told me that there is not much they can do... |

Have you checked your O2 sensors? |

I have the same set up w/o the ARB on my '99 with 60k. I have always gotten between 250-270 out of a tank. I'd love to get 320-350 out of every tank. If you do figure it out, please post it. |

I have not looked at the O2 sensors per se, but I assumed that they would throw codes if they were bad. To compare, my brother has a '99 w/ the same set up except that he has a winch on the front and he averages around 350-370 per tank. It baffles me... |

Check the O-ring on the MAF for air leaks, also the airbox. Could also be you got a bad new MAF. Ron |

I would look at MAF and O2 sensors, as both could cause an enriched mixture. When you say it isn't throwing codes - do you mean that the light hasn't come on, or that they physically cabled it up to Testbook and ran through all the pages to check for codes?

According to the service guy at dealer, he stated that if no lights are on (SES or CEL)they will be unable to diagnose anything...is this true? |

No lights is not necessarily equal to no codes... Needs to be hooked up to testbook or equivalent to see what is really going on. |

it might not be as bad as you think. let me know if I'm way off base but I think this is what happened to me when I went from 255/55x18 to 265/75x16s stock tire circumference = 29.0in*pi/12=7.59ft 265/75x16 circumference=31.6in*pi/12=8.27ft In one mile the stock tire rotates 695.45 times. The odometer ticks off one mile. But, in 695.45 rotations the larger tire travels 5753.38 ft. This is about 1.1 miles If the odometer said 300 miles/tank before the tire swap and it now says 250 youve really traveled about 275 miles. right?
