Hi all, new to forum, I currently own a 97 300tdi Disco and would like to widen the wheel track. Currently in Australia Pro Spacers are banned in all states!!!!! Which is annoying!!! The only option I have is fitting larger wheel's which mean changing gearing, and stronger axles, is there any other options? Regards Crawfy |

Get a rim with a differnt off set, vice spacers, and go with 245-75-16 vice factory size and you will have a wider track. It will not be alot, but you might get 4 inches more this way. |

I don't think stronger axles and changing gearing is necessary to run slightly bigger tires. I think it's debatable on the safety of spacers anyway. Not to mention, you probably have to shorten the lug bolts which can't be good. BUT you can get some American Racing Black Nuggets which have about 1" offset over stock and 245 or 265 tires and it will widen your stance. I don't know for sure; but I imagine, you don't have to beef up gears and axles until you get up in the 285 (or 33") and larger. I'm sure someone will enlighten us. |
