Anyone got some easy tips on how to discover (forgive the pun) the source of a roof leak in a twin sunroof Discovery II without taking down the headcloth ?

I've seen some thread discussion on the roof windows but am not sure how to start the search.

Hmm, sounds like there could be a crack in a seal, might have to look from the top outside. I would open the sunroofs and check each one from the outside.

Possible. But I would lay much longer odds that one of the drain tubes from the sunroof has sheared or otherwise fractured, and the sunroof drain is draining into your headliner

Thanks ..
I'll go with the drain theory first. Anyone know where the drain starts and finishes so I can check it out ....

I too have a leak and perhaps it is the sunroof drains and not the windshield seal. How do I check this out for myself?

But...if the seal was good, no water would enter in the first place... When I put my rails back together, the glass was slightly off, and didn't seal well - thus it leaked when it rained with the windows closed. When I checked and realigned the glass - it solved the problem.

Mine leaks into the cargo area, & no sunroofs. Any suggestions?

No water would enter in first place.... hmm, well, maybe, I'm not sure it was every designed to be like that. But anyway, the drain channel is built into the sunroof assembly and has two drain holes which come out on either side of the sunroof assembly behind the headliner as little black plastic push-fit connectors onto which tubing is pushed. These connectors and the area where they attach should be tested using the approach of "if it wiggles or bends with gentle pressure where it clearly shouldn't, then that's bad" approach.

Mine leaks too... It snowed, pulled the car in the garage, snow melted on top of the first sunroof; therefore water sat all night. When I backed out of the garage, the water came in from around where the Homelink system is located? And also from the first dome light ? It has not done it again(knock on wood)...

Heya Bob,

I was all set to tear everything out...then I noticed that the catch on my rear door could be moved in about 1". I tightened up the door and now no more leaks :-)

O/T:

My DII has no sunroof but everytime it rains the monster floormats have about a cup of water in them. Windows are all closed BTW.
