Hoping for any insight. I have been having problems over the last few weeks starting up, it does nothing. But if I keep the ignition turned for 10 seconds it turns over, which led me to believe (via a LR repair bulletin) that it had something to do with the security system cutting power. If I go start pressing the remote keypad, locking and unlocking, resetting the system, it will eventually turn over and start. But it is getting progressively worse. If I forget to unlock the doors before I turn off the truck, it starts making clicking noises, I believe from the relay under the passenger dashboard. I know its then going to be a major hassle to restart. Also, if I turn on my lights while the radio is on, the radio "pops". Yesterday, it also starting revving a little high when I was at a complete stop. I have an appt. with LR to reset the security system, I guess I am just hoping you guys will tell me that that is all you think it is!! I am petrified that it might be something big - like my electrical system! We have already had to have the transmission replaced (LR picked up the cost because it happened two weeks after we bought it Certified Used) and a few months later, most of the engine had to be replaced - the only thing I remember about it is it had to do with pistons and there were literally shards of metal in the engine. I love this truck to death, but I dont if its just a dead horse I shouldnt beat anymore! So, what do you think - could these things just be happening because of the relay or security system or am I in for another big shock? No need to get too technical - I am pretty close to being one of those infamous soccer Moms you joke about!!

Irish, Recently had to reset my security system in the parking lot of the local home improvement store, due to symptoms such as your's. LRNA walked me through it very quickly over telephone. Here is what they had me do to reset security system: Disconnect negative battery terminal for about 10 mins.Reconnect battery termnal. Close and lock all doors and sunroofs. Insert key in drivers door lock, then lock, unlock, and remove key from lock cylinder, repeat procedure 2 more times. Following this the security system should be reset. If following this proceedure your security system remote fails to operate properly, press the lock button on the remote 4 time in rapid sucession in close proximity to the vehicle. As for the radio issue, I'll leave that to anyone more qualified. Hope this is of some use.
