I've developed a grinding sound - seemingly from the rear driveline. Don't hear it when you stick your head out the window, but very clear from inside. Particularly loud when slowing down or engine braking downhill. It sounds as if it is in sync with wheel rotation, so I think carrier bearings in the rear diff. Any thoughts before I start stripping the diff? |

I was afraid you'd say that... Guess I'll start with the brakes. |

In closing: It turned out to be the right rear wheel bearing. Relieved, but also amazed at how sounds can be transmitted through the chassis and body. Cheers, Anre |
