Troy, make sure that is legal in your state. Most of the time it isn't wired that way because it is illegal (and if you have state inspections, you won't pass). |

I would assume you bypass the relay that is used in the high beam ckt. -tony |

IIRC the relay is controlled by logic inside of the BCU. So, no, it's not quite as simple as that. On the other hand, ISTR that there may have been a Testbook option along these lines -- may be just my imagination of course. Suggest you check with your friendly dealer... he may be able to do it for you for nothing... |

yep, nothing better than having high beams and fog lights on at the same time when you're driving in fog. if you want driving lights, belly up to the bar and buy them. although it rarely gets enforced, at least Oklahoma has a law on the books that fog lights can only be used in the fucking fog. instead of being used for the "hey, look how cool I am as I have fog lights." off the Jaime |

Troy - What fog lights are you trying to re-wire up ? The original OEM lights underneath or Hella's?

Troy this is the way I did mine. When you turn your dash lighs on, you also turn on the low power front lights. Those low power front lights are basically a waste so you can use the wires and switch for your fog lights, should be plug-n-play, you might need extensions and that would be just wire with the right ends to tie in your fog lights to the sockets of the old low beam lights (simple enough). Basically after the change when you turn your dash lighst your fog lights will also come on, when you turn your lights on your fog will also stay on so there you have it Fog lights with main lights on!!! I have very low power fog lights, I passed inspection here in TX no problem, but you should check in your state and also make sure your not blinding anyone when you driving with all these lights on!! |
