Hello. I was just wondering how many grease fittings are on a 99 D2 and what kind of grease everybody is using. I know that these fittings need to be greased at every oil change. Thanks for your help. John |

They are just on the prop shafts, one of which currently is just a blanking plug and needs a nipple being added Apparently its not left in as it may hit stuff and bend, but I couldn't see how and mines been in there for 10K miles now with plenty on bumpy off roading and hasn't hit ought I'm using Ovoline High Lithium Grase from www.difflock.com which is a nice clear red in colour so its easy to see when its dirty Personally I'd bung some grease in more often than every oil change. Better to overgrease than under. I'm doing mine about every month but lately theres only been clean grase coming out so I think I'll reduce that interval. The first few times you do it you will be amazed at the gunk in there despite it supposedly being serviced regularly |
