I was in an accident last week -- not in the Rover. Here are some pics of the carnage. I wonder if much would have happened to the Rover...

Damn Tom! What did you hit? I'm glad to hear that you're okay and hope no one was hurt.

I second that with a big fat DAMN!!!

I am also glad to hear that you're damn lucky and well. If you're in good enough shape to put it on a web page, you're doing very well after looking at the driver's side door.

Aren't you glad the rosary was there?

Why were you in that POS?

Glenn - Nobody was hurt seriously. The other driver had a bump on her head from her steering wheel (no seatbelt). I had a couple bruises I didn't notice until hours later after the adrenaline wore off.

Craig - Real glad.

Ron - 30 mpg for my 300+ miles per week for work. Nothing better for that than a paid off econo box. The Rover has been put back into daily duty for now.

It's a good thing your faith was with you. I am glad you are OK.

Land Rovers have a history of surviving impacts. If you drive a Discovery, the result would have probably been a diminished version of the same. The probability of you being injured would have been reduced, but as you found out, probability isn't the only player on the field.

Looks like you were rammed by a full sized car from the side, angling toward the front. About 40mph? Do tell...

Glad your Ok, and hope everything else is well.

Cheers,

Kennith

1993 Buick Lesabre, hit me in just that fashion. I was poked into the median looking ahead at traffic (we were all stopped). She was flying to catch the turn signal and got me. I don't know how fast she was going.

I think if I would have been in my truck the woman in the Lesabre would have been in serious trouble, probably would have went under a good amount and maybe ended up hitting herself on my rock slider instead. Who knows.

Ugh. Didn't look at this thread earlier ... Glad no serious injuries. It's experiences like that, when you least expect it, that sure do give a wake up call. Kind of gives one a new perspective on things for awhile. Glad you're okay.
