I just purchased a Genuine LR Brush Guard and Hellas for my '03 Disco. Is installing something I could undertake myself? If not, what is a reasonable price for a shop to install? I searched and couldn't find anything.

Dude, look under the front bumper. Look at the brush guard. Loosen bolts, fit brush guard onto frame, install and tighten bolts. There, now you have a nearly-worthless hunk of metal on the front of your truck.

As for the Hellas, searching under "driving light install" and "hella" should give you an idea of how to do it.

Andy

Chandler, for your '03 DII you'll have to remove the from bumper to attatch the brush guard, unlike a DI which is how Andy describes. Did you get the instruction manual with your kit?? If not I can email you a copy. The booklet tells you exactly what to do and it is very straight foward. I did this myself and it's not a big deal, but I do recommend you get a second person to help.

Chandler, I just sent you an Acrobat file on how to install your BB. Good luck and get a friend to help, it gets a little wild trying to do things your self.

No, actually- I didnt have any imput, thats why I didnt choose to give the incorrect directions to Chandler on how to attach his brush guard. Simple as that. I mean, you must have just assumed it was installed just like a d1, but you really didnt know.

My point is rather than offer free INCORRECT advice, why dont you wait until someone who actually has done an install on a 03 disco II speak up.

Its nothing personal Newman, just an observation and a peeve of mine.

If you have to remove the front bumper to install the brush guard, get an ARB or a RTE bumper. There's probably someone out there who will buy yer Genuine Brush Guard and you'll be halfway to a new bumper (or more).
