Ok after my cats blew(which I am still not happy about.. ) Now I am in need of upstream sensors.. Anybody have any thoughts on used ?? I found the Genuine Evap for 170.00 each plus shipping.. LR wanted 330.00 for one. Or I found them aftermarket(thanks Alan) for about 105.00? Used prices were between $50-$60.
Alyssa, any thoughts ??
I reset the codes and I am still still getting P#1187.

Call Nathan Crabtree & get new genuine. Great service & great prices.
Why bother with used? I can't think of a whole lot of reasons why you'd have viable used O2 sensors around. Since O2 sensors aren't exactly universal throughout LR, you're pretty much guaranteed they are off a late 97 to 99 Series I, and they'll be pretty old & not have a whole lot of life left. Unless you find some nearly new ones, I don't think it's worth it.
My only caveat when installing them is to not overtorque them... follow the specs. Apparently they can get damaged fairly easily upon install.

Go new. I wouldn't mess around with used stuff when it comes to sensors.

Nathan (http://www.discountbritishparts.com/) is a good guy. I've bought other things from him before and he's always been friendly and professional.

yep - I'd go with Alan on this one (and I'm a terrible chepskate) - but buying used is a false economy. Sure a used one may work to begin with - but when's it going to fail ?

Yes I agree, I hate to go used! Just fix the problem the right way and do it once! I have re-set the codes again, and I also checked the connections. So far so good, I will wait to see if maybe they just got wet or a loose connection? If I could only be that lucky!
Thanks for the ref on Nathan! Mel
