Brake lights don't work.

I have checked the fuses and I know it can't be the bulbs b/c the brake lights wouldn't work on the trailer lights, so therefore it has to be a wire problem. I figure it is the brake switch by the pedal. Has anyone had similar problems or has an idea of another possibility of what could cause the problem.
