Question mainly directed at Jamil Abbassy because I think it was a picture of his truck I was looking at.

Where did you get your bumper mounts for the Hi-Lift jack? or did you make your own.

Cheers

Jeremy,
I got them from this site:
http://www.colemanracing.com/section/index.htp?id=683

I picked up the rest of the hardware at a local Home Depot. You just need bolts, the metal tube, or a bunch of washers.

However, I did redo the mount this past weekend. I was tired of the balancing act. I had to put the tube on, then the jack and then get the two bolts in and make sure the jack didn't fall. So I found some bolts with a thread the whole length of the bolt, screwed those in, then got the metal cylinder and some bolts to finish it off. You could also use wing-nuts, but I don't want anyone stealing it, and not many thieves walk around with a socket set.

Jamil,

Thanks for the info. Don't know if I will be able to get hold of those brackets...the company won't ship outside the USA.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and nice looking truck you've got there.

Cheers for now.

you could just use exhaust clamps. and then drill a hole in the center of them for a nut to go through, that nut passes through the highlift holes and gets tightened down with a wingnut. you will have to grind down the bolt heads so they fit in the backside of the clamps, but this also makes it so the bolt cant turn while your tightening down the jack.
this method is cheap, ($4 bucks for ALL the parts) and it works fine for me. i used lock washers so the wing nuts dont loosen. paint it all black and it doesnt look bad.
i kept mine up there for quite a while and no one touched it, but grease the be-jesus out of it if you plan on leaving it exposed to the elements...

Yakima now makes Hi-Lift mounts, which are designed to fit the Load-Warrior and Mega-Warrior racks that both have a tube diameter similar to the adventure roof rack.
