Ok, I know I've asked a million questions already but I have one more. I just order my OME hd springs from British Pacific today, there back ordered and on a boat and will be at my door step in three weeks. While talking with the guy at Britsh Pacific (very nice guy) we began discussing what tire size I'll be using. I thought I would go with with 265/75/16. By the end of the conversation I almost went down to the local tire store and bought 245s. My question is this. Will 265s take a noticable amount of power. Will they cause more brake wear and other problems. If I can do the same off-roading with my 95 d1 using 245s then I'll do it. I want to use the truck off road purposes but still will drive it to work and around (2nd car). plus I want it to look some what purpose looking if that makes sense. let me put it this way I take good care of all my vehicles but want my neighbors to know I use it off road. many own Range Rovers that have never seen dirt. sorry to make the question so long. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Andy |

265/75 r16's are the same height as 245/75 r16's, the 265 refers to the width of the tyre. My XD has/had 245/75 R16's back when it didn't even have a lift and they only required a little trimming in the back, looked good.. i think. check it out http://www.discoweb.org/jackleitch/index.htm Hope this helps. Actually, 265/75R16 are an inch larger in diameter than 245/75R16 The first number (245) is the width in milimeters, the second number (75) is the aspect ratio. 16 is the wheel diameter in inches. The height of the sidewall is 245mm * 0.75/25.4mm per inch = 7.23425 inches The diameter of the tire is 7.23425 * 2 + 16 = 30.4685 in -- OR -- go here: http://www.expeditionexchange.com/tiresize.htm |
