Has anyone ever had just one door not lock or unlock using the remote? My left passenger door is inop. You can work the lock manually and the alarm will still work? Checked all of the fuzes and all other doors work fine? Just wondering if I will have to pull the door panel and replace the motor? Looking for input on this gremlin. Thanks Dale Farr |

I'm experiencing a similar problem on my 94 D1 except that the doors that fail to lock/unlock will rotate. Sometimes the right rear door, sometimes the left rear, sometimes the front passenger. The door locks all work manually but only "quiver" when using the remote fob OR inserting the key into the driver's door and locking/unlocking. Is there a "central actuator" I should be looking at? |

Change for aftermarket actuators. Rover use generic items luckily. $30 in Oz for a set from autoparts store. But 1st just try lubeing all rods etc with panel off. Bazzle |

Thanks for the info, I figured that it might be an actuator, hopefully some lubricant will do the job, otherwise I'll put a new actuator in. Cheers, Dale Farr |

Jim, I spoke with the tech rep at L/R. He told me that my problem was more than likely a bad actuator; he also said that there is an electrical control unit (ECU) for the doors that makes the actuators work, it also interfaces with the alarm system. He stated that if the other doors were acting up at the same time it might be the ECU. See if you can find a shop manual for the trouble shooting and ECU location so you can check trhe connectors. Sounds like you might have an ECU that is getting ready to fail. The cost for the actuator at L/R is $150.00 while the ECU is $385.00. Both are outrageous and you cant take them back once you buy them. Aftermarket sounds like the way to go on the actuators anyway. Good luck Dale Farr
