I wish to replace my 97 d1 motor with a carberated version and was wondering if I do this will the trans shift with out the computer on board or do I need to build a motor that has efi ?? thanks all4s |

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but your transmission is not electronically controlled. You should be fine. |

ok thank you i'm applying the KISS method to this truck ( keep it simple stupid ) It has a 100 k and just blew a head gasket, so if I'm going to rebuild I would like to know my options your input is most welcome thanks very much |

But what about the ignition, thats all ecu controlled and without the efi not sure it will work. Suspect you may have to swap to a 95 or prior distributor system..... |
