Hey folks, I'm a new Disco owner but long time rover owner. I have a few questions for the experienced Disco owners such as yourselves. This is gonna be a long post so buckle up and hold on. I plan to lift my Disco to the tune of about 3 inches or so above stock. Will this cause a problem in the driveline? How well do Rotoflex couplings hold up under lifted conditions? I've thought about swapping for a later rear flange to accomadate a U joint like a Range rover. My disco's axles have about 215k on them and so far seem to be in decent shape. The rotoflex has a few cracks here and there but all seems fine now. Also wondering what the max lift I can get without getting castor corrected radius arms, etc. My 93 RR LWB has ome heavy springs and seems to drive fine with no other suspension mods. For the Disco I'd like to go a bit higher for increased wheel size. Also wondering what other components will need replacing in the near future. As of now all steering components including box and pump have been replaced, engine and t-case r new, Trans is acting real weird (see other post)and as far as I know both axles are original. Disco has 215k miles on her and I'd like to squeeze as many more out of her as I can. Floors are experiencing the typical rot from those damn spongy floor insulation mats. I may just rip out the carpets and rhino line the inside. Anyone else experience any other problems with high mileage discos? Just wondering what I'm getting myself into. Thanks.
