Think we agree Pelican cases or similiar are the ticket for transporting stuff on a rack. My question is what do people use to attach the case to the rack??? Especially when actually taking the Rover on a fairly rough road. Are bungee cords sufficient???
Thanks in advance.

No, bungee cords are not sufficient. There are a couple of things to use individually or together depending on the terrain/environment to be driven in.

One idea is to use a cargo net that has tie-down straps all around it's outside edge. The downside is if you are going into a heavily wooded area where the top of the truck will encounter a lot of branches, then the net will constantly get hung-up and rip, tear, etc.

Even with a net, however, the items under it will just move around. So you still need to secure those items. You can either use loop straps (preferably with metal buckles and not plastic) --or-- rachet straps. The latter will hold the items with much greater strength and should be used for the heaviest of items (i.e.; spare tire, jerry cans, etc.). Walmart has rachet straps, but they are generally too long. You need shorter ones more than likely.

FWIW....go to a motorcycle shop for the shorter ratchet straps....they usually have a good selection...
