I need comments from others on here who have gone the OME route from stock. I'm just trying to get a feel for what the ride will be on the highway with the HD on my truck. I do a lot of highway driving back and forth from NC to VA. I don't plan on fitting a HD bumper/winch bumper in the near future, but EE recommends the HD springs for the front. I know I'll need HD for the rear. Tires are another story. I'm probably going to fit some 245 BFG AT's in the summer. I'm running stock tire now and will probably keep them on for a few more months. They still have about 60% tread on them. Let me know what you all think. |

Also, what's the likelyhood that I'll recieve some unmatched springs? Is this an issue I need to bring up with the seller? |

Kris, i put some OME HD's on my DI and kept the stock shocks on which takes away from the springs. If i were you i would not plan on keeping the stock shocks for long at all. The HD's do give it a slightly noticeable lift, also with the EE Expeditionware rear spacers are recommended for 235/85/16. I currently have 245/75/16 Cooper Discoverer S/T's on my rover now, and the only part that scrubs is in the rear on the fender lip about 1 inch from the bottom. Expedition Exchange has fair prices, the lowest i found, and sent me matched springs. Unmatched springs is highly unlikely. If i were you i'd call Expedition Exchange and speak to John Lee, a very nice guy and he'll answer any questions you have about the springs. Stiff ride in my opinion. |

Ive got ARB OMEs springs and shocks on my 1998 series one. They ride great. RH ones (rear were about 15mm longer) for RH drive. If it doesnt sit flat swap rear springs over? Front med, rear med BUT I dont carry any loads in rear. What sort of Disco is yours?? Bazzle |

I installed a set of OME springs from EE with bilsteen (sp?) shocks. I do a lot of highway miles with construction site off road mileage. More road building than off roading. No winch or other accessories installed on the vehicle. The combination has worked very well for me. I can chase the scrapers and still run the interstates. |

Although I didn't mention it in my initial post, I am replacing all the shocks with OME as well. So I might consider a MD for the front springs to ease up the ride a bit. I was just comparing 235/70-16 with some 238/85-16 tires. I'm not sure if I'll have to trim with those or not. 99 Disco SD and I don't anticipate carrying heavy loads for the most part. |

I love my OME HD set up on my DII. The best part about on road driving is the superb dampening on crappy roads. Smokes the stock set up. Offroad it's great as well, although I wish I could get a bit more flex out of the OME shocks and I do wish I went with the 3" OME lift from EE though. My .05 cents.>JB

I suggest getting the HD shocks if you're going with OME. I went through 3 sets of the MD shocks, all leaked oil with less than a month of use. HD shocks have been on for about 5 months and no leaks. |

Matt - you're right about British Pacific. I'm ordering all my shocks and springs + damper from them. Jim, Thanks for the heads up. Has anyone else experienced leaky MD shocks from OME? |
