My friend is replacing his rear airbags with springs pretty soon. Is it possible to use the SLS compressor as a source of onboard air? For airing up tires for example. I have no idea what the compressor is rated for so I don't know if it'd do very well but it's an idea.

Yeah you can do that and I went through that thought process too. But it will take you like an hour to air up 1 tire. Get a powertank.

Well, it was an idea anyway. I guess it's a high pressure low volume pump then.

I think that's pretty common, but again not sure on the rating.

I don't think it takes an hour to air up your tires with an SLS compressor. I use an old compressor out of a Caddy and it is only a minute slower that my buddies ARB. Hook the thing up to your battery and give it a test try before you mount it onto your truck. Unless you are always in a hurry, it should do the job just fine.....Dave

well I don't think my friend will let me have it, I was thinking for his rig as long as it's already on there.

Even better. Modify the output hose with a quick disconnect and attach an air hose and air up a tire. By the way, nice pic on your bio....Dave

No not really. I bought a tank from them and used an air con compressor from a RR. Them bought the fittings from a local hardware supplier, much cheaper.
It pumps a 235/75 from flat to 2.6 bar in just over 80 seconds.
