Searched last 365 days and found nothing. This morning I turned on my AC and cranked the air and got weird noise from the fan. It sounds like the bearing or the fan is screwed up, like missing a blade. Has anyone experienced this and if so how hard and costly is it to repair/replace? It does it without the ac on too.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy.

I don't know if you have been up under the dash yet, but the blower motor is easy to get to and check. I had the same problems with mine when the dealer droped a piece of a tool down into my dash. I opened up the fan housing and removed the piece. Guys on this board helped me with it. They said that sometimes mice will build nests in there. Also anything that gets in there could cause it.

The housing on a 99 DII is on the passenger side under the glove box. Get a flashlight and you will be able to make out the cicular piece that you need to remove. Get that out of there and inspect the area. You may have to remove the whole assembly to get the whole thing cleaned. It may just need lubrication or something along those lines.

John

Thanks John! That makes me feel better. I just bought the Disco and got rid of two mice that had built a nest beetween the hood and heat shield and maybe one of them got in there. Never saw where they went after destroying their home. Just turned on the engine for a while. Hopefully that scared them or the heat built up to a point that they had to get out. Thanks again.
