THIS IS MY FIRST POST, EVEN THOUGH I CHECK ON DWEB DAILY SINCE 2002, SO HELLO EVERYBODY..!
I AM ABOUT TO SELL MY '95 D1 MPI (ROVER 620 ENGINE) AND GET A V8. ALMOST EVERYONE HERE IN GREECE WHERE I LIVE, HAS A NEUTRAL OR, EVEN WORSE, BAD OPINION ABOUT DISCOS. EVEN MAGAZINES ACCUSE THEM FOR NOT BEING RELIABLE, HAVING MANY PROBLEMS E.T.C. MY FINANCES CANNOT MAKE IT WITH A VERY DEMANDING VEHICLE. UP TILL NOW I HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS BUT JUST BECAUSE OF BAD MAINTENANCE FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I HAVE LOVED THESE TRUCKS THE PAST 1 1/2 YEARS I OWN MINE AND I CANNOT IMAGINE MYSELF WITH A SUBSTITUTE... I WOULD LOVE SOME SINCERE OPINIONS, THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE.

Please don't use caps, that means you're shouting.

D, I think that these trucks are fairly resonable to maintain, and reliable. If you have a decent set of tools and a good service manual, and a good line on parts. D-web access is a huge plus for trouble shooting and advice, tech tips ect...A little maintinance and regular fluid changes is worth the love is it not? Good luck switching to petrol power.

Sorry for the caps,didn't know..
I am already doing some parts of the regular services myself, and love doing it! the matter is that parts are pricey over here, but I can afford most of them. Thanks for sending some luck over here..!

There are two types of rover owners...Those who do their own maintenance, and those that sell their Rovers after a few years.

Not very reliable, but Damn fun to own if you have the time to put into it.

Join the Yahoo Discovery Owner's list, and you'll find couple of people in Greece that are die-hard owners. Might be nice to meet up with/talk to them personally.

I am one of those who take care of their discos and definitely not going to sell my new "baby" for many-many years (hope forever, but that might be big words..)!I am selling this one because 2000cc of petrol cannot move the poor thing offroad, even in 1st low it runs out of pwer very easily!an engine replacement is illegal here so, I have to sell it :-(
I'll check for disco mates in yahoo, never thought of it.
thanks everyone..
