Just picked up a re-man Marelli 100amp alternator to replace the re-man Bosch on my 95 D1. On the Marelli the black plastic cover is a little longer than the Bosch but the wire connectors are in the same location and order. However the Bosch has a small blk. wire comimng off of the "W" lead and this small wire has a small square sealed "box" on the end with a lead that bolts on to the metal bottom of the Bosch body. No such wire w/"box" came with the Marelli alt. Do I just try to swap this wire from the Bosch to the Marelli. I would need re-do the bolt shaft so the wire/box lead would fit Marell. Any thoughts? Advise? Thxs. Gregg. |

Leave it off. It's a radio noise suppressor and I have noticed no diff without it. BTW, I went from Marelli to Bosch

Thxs. Joe. You confirmed what my import parts guru said this morning. Any how I went ahead and rewired the supressor. No big deal. Just wanted to make sure I was'nt messing with some odd ground wire. |
