I just purchased an 01 Discovery and it didn't come with any kind of step bar. My fiance is only 5'5" and wants to get some kind of running board or step bars on it. I've been looking, but haven't found any good sites to purchase Rover accessories. Where is the best place to purchase things like this? Thanks in advance. |

I found two different sets of step bars for it but they are $600 and $800. That seems awfully steep to me, but then again I have never purchased accessories for a Rover before. Any opinions? |

Check out the sliders at www.virginia4x4.org This will work for a step for you, and Dweb gets a 10% donation on the sale of the sliders. If interested, be sure to state that you are a dweb member when you contact Virginia4x4. |

Thats a shameless plug Daniel! I'll try to get you a picture soon. Nick, Try E-bay. There always seems to be side steps there. They'll be the cheaper variety though. |

Walter I was going to check E-bay, but I was worried about the quality of them. I was prepared to pay $3-400, but$6-800 kind of came as a shock. Not trying to be cheap just don't want to overpay. |

If you want cheaper ones, manik makes nerf bars (the tube kind), ARB makes some real nice ones for $300 (www.4x4connection.com), and Dap-Inc. has some for around $300 also. Check them out. I like the ARB ones as they are real tough. Matt |

or you could do what the railroads used to do for folks getting on the commuter trains - a small 2 riser step. cost effective and doesn't then limit your Disco off-highway. Jaime |

Personally -- I'd skip the step bar and go for the RTE rock sliders w/nerf bar. You can add a little grip tape to the top, then you have a step bar as well as functioning off-road equipment. http://www.rovertym.com/sliders.htm |
