Brake failures, sticking throttles and potential fire hazards due to fluid leaks.

Great :-( - I've never had a vehicle that was part of a recall. Is this a case of call into your local Land Rover 'benduovership' to find out?

Yeah, Jeff -- call the dealership.

Serves you all right for buying D2's, anyway... :-)

It looked from the article like it covers late D1's as well. But no mention about what Vin number ranges or anything.

I can't think of a manufacturer that hasn't had a recall. Even the great mercedes Benz has had numerous ones. I wouldn't get to worried. if it's true have it done and go on with life. Even Honda had to recall it's goldwing motorcycle because a few cracked their frames. it happens.

Cheers Andy

Here is the recall description complete with VINs.
I'm glad I don't own a DII! ;-)

Seriously, this could possibly not affect US Discos. In 1999 LR recalled a bunch of peeling dash D1s and replaced the dash. Obviously, we did not get this recall and thus I had a repair kit installed on my D1. Lucky Brits.
