I just had a TJM front bumper installed on my DII buy a local body shop (long painful story). When I got home I was playing around with the HiLift jack points and while jacking on one side the bumper shifted. My question is, does anyone know the recommended torque values for the mounting bolts? I am going to check them all tomorrow and would like to have an idea of how tight they should be. For others with a TJM bumper. . .when you jack on it does it shift or is it pretty solid? Thanks, Lance |

I've never used a jack on my TJM bumper, but when I jump on it or push and pull on it, the whole truck moves, not the bumper. You might want to make sure that the shop didn't skip a few bolts. |

Thanks Mike. It looks like all the bolts are there (2 each side on the frame side of the crush can and 3 on the bumper side of the crush can). When I jump on the bumper it is stable and, like yours the whole truck moves. It is only when I jacked on it and the front tire was just about to come off the ground that it shifted. Lance |

My son & I had to retighten the bolts too. We maxed the torque on the grade 5 bolts. i think they were 9/16" grade 5 bolts with max torque of 114lbs. becareful, we did shear 1 of the bolts off. |

Grade 8 is better and the only grade to use on winch bumpers |
