The heater/ a/c controls are in the way. Do I need to remove these to replace the center fascia? Anyone do this before?

I looked in the shop manual. Looks like a pain in the ass. Why must you remove the center fascia (louvre panel)? The basic steps appear to be: Remove the radio, remove the radio cage, remove the clock, remove the coin tray, remove the heater controls and blower swith knob, remove screws securing louvre panel.

Tom, I did al that, but I am having trouble removing the heater control knobs. I dont want to break the knobs and I am afraid to just pull on them. I am removing the fascia because the one I have one there now is cracked and I have a new one to install. Any other ideas?

OK. Looks like the knobs just pull straight out. Behind them are screws securing the heater graphic display panel. Then the whole control panel can be removed by removing 4 more screws, one in each corner. I'll mail you a pic.
