I can only speak for myself, but I don't think there's any getting past the fact that OJ walked in part because of the racial make up of the jury. A few jurors themselves said as much. Now, for me, I don't want ANY murderer walking the streets, no matter race or any other variable. OJ toggled back and forth between the "white" world and the "black" world depending on how it could benefit him. I don't think he succeeded solely because he played the race card. I think he succeeded more because he played the stupid card. Stupid people come in all colors, too, and he was able to manipulate the stupid, IMO. There was TONS of stupidity to go around in that trial on ALL sides, but the bottom line for me is: OJ killed two people and he got away with it. Science and logic could not overcome the Idjit Factor. As for my Mark David Chapman comment, he was the guy who asked for John Lennon's autograph, and later that evening killed him. Frankly, if someone "Chapman'd" OJ, I would think it a crime with a little Karma chaser. BTW, did y'all know I'm an African American? Well, I may be white, but I was born in Africa and supposedly by default carry dual citizenry (regrettably from the sunny shores of Libya). Are you part of an african american struggle, and where and how did you get the impression that OJ is ashamed of being black? Understanding Black culture and the differences within Black culture will help you to understand that all of Black America isn't looking for someone to lead the race.
