Hey, I was wondering if any of you knew what would be causing these strange vertical indentations in my tires... I've gotta drive (well not me, but me & my friend) to Louisiana this weekend, but the G's been setting out for almost 2 months & I just noticed these linear indentations today! Is that bad? This may be a good excuse to get some good tires...

Maybe it's the tread?

On a tire, which dimension would you consider to be vertical?

haha no its not the tread! its on the side going from the rim to the edge of the tire.

Could it be a cat leaving scent or a dog taking a leak? I get a lot of that stuff.....looks funny from a distance.

Camille, I had some Michelins on another truck that did that. It looks kind of "wavy"? Mine were fine and I never had any problems with them. Of course, like you said, you could use that as an excuse to get some REAL tires.

My stock Michelins did the same thing when my Disco was siting out for about 5 weeks. I just aired them up, drove around for awhile, and they were fine. But I'm with everyone else, take advantage of the moment and get some new tires!
