I came across this under trails. All I can say is what were you thinking Nadim?

So, now for the technical discussion, is this truck toast?

Ouch...I can't bare to look at that picture, it hurts.

Was it a diesel or a gas? If it was a V8, it must be screwed.

A snorkle DOES NOT Double as a Periscope!

Mel,

I was thinking the same thing. If it's a diesel and totally set up for swimming it might be okay.

No, the sand ladders are there and in use. In this case they weren't quite long enough to span the puddle :)

Milan, when are we going to hear the details?

That is a tragedy. Seeing that picture reminds me of another picture I saw here on Discoweb. I've searched all over and cannot find it. It was a series of pictures that showed perhaps an Isuzu Trooper? buried in water much like the above Disco. Anyone know where that is? I'd like to see that one again

I don't remember where, but I saw a video clip of a Isuzu Rodeo w/an ARB snorkel going through some really deep water. And to make things more interesting, I think it was a gas engine. I'm not sure where I saw this but I think it had something to do with ARB. Anyone else see this???

Jroc,
that is what I was talking about.. I know that I ran across it via Discoweb a few months back but seeing that poor Disco in the water brought it back to my memory.. let me know if you find it.. Peace.. RS

That is totally nuts. Those guys look like they are playing cards or something while the truck floats out of control. There is a great photo from the Camel Trophy of a guy sitting in a Disco up to his waist in water. Does anyone have that photo and can post it?

I wouldent even think of going deep in a disco no matter how well submarine safe it was set up.

the smell of wet carpet growing really sucks

but I have had my scout to the middle of the windsheild for as far as 1/2 mile with no problems at all

well the only small one is when you come out of the water you sometimes are hauling a few thousand pounds of water in the cab and it can really make climbing the bank out of the water much tougher

Aside from the mud on the wheels and the front bumper, they really did get it sparking clean!!!

Not that it matters... I just thought Id throw it in. I have the Camel Trophy video that the previous picture was taken from... those trucks were disabled and the task was just to get them across the river. It wasn't a driving incident.
