I've the opportunity to get a 1992 RR (SWB) at a dealer (non-LR) nearby. Any input on what kind of deal this would be?
- 137K miles
- Spotless exterior (medium green, FWIW)
- Spotless interior (tan leather)
- Clean engine compartment
- Runs well, with no knocks, clicks, etc.
- No A/C (needs a recharge, probably)
- No functioning cruise (not sure -- vacuum hoses and connections seem OK but I haven't looked too much)
- All components work, but ABS light is on (dealer claims ABS functional but I haven't had the chance to test it yet)
- VIN is clean
The dealer wants $7995 -- what do you guys think of this?

I think you can do alot better on the price, does the dealer know for sure if the ac compressor is working or is just BSing your. ABS parts are very expensive if there is a problem or it could just be a sensor problem. Check the rover thouroughly for any rust, especially on the tailgate, check for any fluid leaks. Also you might want to check out Ebay, they sometimes have some really good deals, but older Rover Classics in good condition without any rust are getting harder to find everyday. |

I bought my 91 from a used car dealer and paid $5000 with 104K last August. I live in NJ.
