Had the opportunity to take one of these out for a ride in Santiago, Chile. Very cool layout. Anyone know if LR has any plans for these in the US?? Know the wife would trade the Escape in for one.

Officially, the NAS 3 door freelander will begin production in early September with the first units spected Stateside in November.
Also official, the Sport Range Rover will be lauched fall 04, unfortunately this pushes the new defender launch date back 12 months to fall 05, with the new disco in 06 unless it also pushes defender back (some within LR think this will happen), and a entry level baby, baby land rover, nicknamed "rangie" ($14,000) in 06 or 07. This all assumes Ford won't be bankrupt by then.

ron.. as the deepthroat said, its definite. i think its going to be one of those "limited" things. its coming in yellow, monte carlo blue, white or black, and it has a quasi-rollcage on the open rear section. alyssa should have the newest "cross-country" video that tells you all about the 3 door freelander excitement. |

Excellent!! Thanks for the information. We drove the 4-door version over the weekend and really liked it. Just would like something a little different from the 4-door Escape. Again, thx for the heads-up.
