Okay, my wife and I bought our first Rover recently, a white '95 Disco still pretty stock. We took it out for the first time today - it is incredible!!! I know this will probably seem tame/lame to more experienced drivers, but... we went to Coal Creek Mining northwest of Knoxville, TN and spent a few hours on the "moderate" trails. Even for someone that has never driven off-road before, these were gravy in the Rover! Every ATV and bike rider up there was amazed that we brought "one of those" up on the mountain - for anyone that has been up there you know its' not Rubicon. Anyway, all/most of the advice that we've gleaned from DiscoWeb has been helpful. Have tried to read/watch (yes, we bought both DW videos and watched them repeatedly) everything we could to learn before going out on even the easiest trails.

We're hoping to spend some time with Bill Burke soon to learn more, before heading out to more difficult runs. Also looking forward to meeting some of ya'll at Mid-Atlantic and "former-Roverfest" this year. Looking forward to connecting with any owners in Eastern Tennessee too!

I know I'm not supposed to post many pics here, but please forgive Axel, Ho and Kyle - I'm also relatively new at BBS postings (my expertise lies more in spreadsheets, etc.)

Kyle, I've been reading about your bumpers and I am extremely interested - I'll sweep the floors, buy the Yuengling, whatever...

I'll be adding a new front bumper and 8k milemarker (as soon as Steve's Tractor delivers it) along with many more upgrades this week or next.

Anywho, we're extremely cranked about our Rover, as you might have guessed, and looking forward to getting wet, dusty, scraped and exhausted in the near future.

Later,
Peace,

Don and Chrystal Wilbanks

Yes, Welcome! I'm a total trail novice, but I sure love my truck. I need to make some time to get out there, too. Great to read your enthusiasm, it comes through loud and clear. As for pics, I've never figured out how to post them, but I do know if they don't show in your preview, they ain't right. Keep trying!

Karen :)

Don, there is another event that you might be interested in attending. The event is the Southern Appalachian Expedition held in Menlo, Georgia (northwest corner of Georgia). It is approx. 45 min. from Chattanooga. You can get more info on the event by going to our website.
www.solaros.com
Once on the site go to the events calendar page then scroll down to the SAE held in September.
All the info for the event is there.
