Does anyone know what options exist with respect to recovery points on the front bumper of a Range Rover 4.0 (I have a 1999).

Second question - has anyone put 255/70/16 tires on a 4.0? If so, any experiences with dueler AT or Scorpion ATs? do either rub?

thanks in advance.

255/70/16's will not rub. You can go bigger. I have 245/75/16's and they do not rub at full articulation. A friend fits 265/75/16 with marginal rubbing, but does not really affect performance.

As far as front end recovery points are concerned, I am still searching for a solution. I have used the loop that extends out of the front bumper, which is welded to the frame, but I would not suggest if really stuck deep.

Difficult with Front-Spoiler vehicles.
Some people use jate rings on the front for recovery but I only have seen that on Defenders. Perhaps a thing to consider.

Oh Sorry,

didn´t notice you own a MKII Rangie.
I was thinking of the Classic

Anyway:
try http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1744906778 for a picture of the towing "rings". Maybe they fit the chassis of your Range aswell.

regards, hendrik
